CFB 26 How To QB Contain

Yes, EA Changed The QB Contain Controls In CFB 26 – Here’s How To Do It

Ian by Ian
July 10, 2025

EA Sports changed some of the pre-snap defensive controls including QB Contain. Let’s not waste any time and just jump right into it.

Here are the new controls to instruct your defense to QB Contain:

XBOX: RB + LB

PlayStation 5: R1 + L1

Over the past few years, QB Contain had been a double tap of RB or R1. If you do that this year out of habit, it will instruct your defense to Show Blitz and get your team way out of position.

Here are the new controls when you press RB/R1 initially.

You can see that LB/L1 is QB Contain and a brand new “Route Commit” option is given to you this year.

The new route commit system is basically just very aggressive shading. If you commit to inside routes and your opponent runs an out route or corner route, you are cooked.

In theory, if you route commit correctly, your opponent’s routes will be blanketed.

Note: The route commit feature only applies to man to man coverage.
