EA Sports dropped their first gameplay trailer for College Football 25 today and the game looks truly amazing.
Buried in the details of the game hype, however, is a significant letdown for those who play online dynasty (a significant portion of the userbase).
According to EA Sports’ website, Crossplay will be available in the following game modes:
- Road To The College Football Playoff
- Ultimate Team
- Play A Friend
Crossplay will be enabled by default in those game modes but you will have the ability to turn the feature off.
Here is the direct quote from EA’s College Football 25 FAQ database:
“In College Football 25, you can play cross-platform in Road to the College Football Playoff, College Football Ultimate Teamâ„¢, and Play a Friend.”
This means that if you have an XBOX Series X|S you won’t be able to play in an online dynasty against your buddies on PlayStation 5 and vice versa.
Another highly anticipated piece of information is that the game mode will be limited to 32 players per dynasty. 32 person franchises have always worked well in Madden.
While many fans may have hoped for a more than 32, after you get above that number it begins very hard to actually get games scheduled.
It is still a significant increase from the 12 person online dynasties from the NCAA Football 14 days.
