One of the most hyped additions to CFB 26 is the addition of real coaches into the game. A total of 125 out of 136 FBS head coaches opted into the game and because of that you’ll see their virtual likenesses on the sideline.
However, there were a few pretty notable exceptions. Here’s the full list of FBS head coaches that are not in the game upon initial release:
- Deion Sanders (Colorado)
- Kirk Ferentz (Iowa)
- Charles Kelly (Jacksonville State)
- Mark Carney (Kent St)
- Mario Cristobal (Miami)
- Jason Eck (New Mexico)
- Bill Belichick (North Carolina)
- Frank Reich (Stanford)
- Trent Dilfer (UAB)
- Bryant Vincent (UL Monroe)
- Bronco Mendenhall (Utah State)
- Tyson Helton (Western Kentucky)
Some of the biggest names that immediately jump out are Deion Sanders, Bill Belichick, and Kirk Ferentz.
Some of the coaches from smaller schools may have just be a paperwork oversight, while bigger name coaches may have thought their name, image, and likeness were worth more than EA Sports was offering.
Those coaches will surely be missed, especially by fans of their respective schools. Even so, getting the overwhelming majority of head coaches into the game on their first try is a win for EA Sports.
Along with head coaches, CFB 26 is also introducing real world offensive and defensive coordinators. Just like head coaches, most of these coordinators are in the game but there certainly are a few that are missing.
