In College Football 24, defensive playbooks work differently than they do in Madden. Instead of unique defensive playbooks for each team, they instead are assigned one of 9 different generic playbooks.

In the default online play now mode, called Road to the CFP, you don’t get to choose the playbook you use and are instead automatically assigned the offensive and defensive playbook of the team you selected.
Unless you use the same team every game, it’s hard to know what generic defensive playbook a school has.
